He’s Just Not That Into You

I don’t promote the dating scene when you are attempting to be with your soul mate, because I feel that the way that you find your soul mate is through letting go of the searching energy. However, dating is part of the process of getting to know what you want in a partner and what you don’t want, as well as giving you experience. When you are just going about your every day routines, doing what you enjoy and allowing yourself to be in the moment, you are naturally in the flow of attracting the same energy back to you, as in the form of a partner that matches you. I am very open minded so even though I had a feeling that this movie was going to bring up dating aspects, I felt I needed to see it. I was very impressed with it and want to share some of the reasons why I liked it. Ultimately, all of us want to experience the same thing with love, within relationships. We want to connect with another person on a deep level that fulfills us in all ways. We want someone to complement us and add to who we are as we do the same for that person, kind of like a seesaw. This is why relationship movies, books, etc. attract so many people. This desire to have and experience that type of love is naturally within us, because truly love is what we are and where we have come from. This movie does bring out a lot of aspects that dating brings up, however it is done in a clever way. The preview starts as well as the movie starts with a scene in the park. This little girl is playing with some sand and a little boy comes over to push her down, tells her she smells like poo. When she is crying to her mother, her mother says, “the reason why that boy did that is because he likes you.” It is very cleverly stated and brought up many times throughout the movie, the things that women tell each other as we grow up, such as this particular statement, and that of course as a result determines how we will then act within relationships and what we will accept because of beliefs such as this. It brings out the absurdity of such thoughts and the nuances of the rules that both men and women follow when dating or being with a member of the opposite sex.
