You Can Be Happy If You Want To

Recently, someone mentioned to me, “I wish I could just be happy,” and I had to express to them, “You can if you want to.” Let me explain what I mean by this. Happiness comes from within you. You bring a feeling of being content with everything that you do, and you can allow yourself to be happy doing whatever it is that you are doing. If you are doing something that you do not particularly enjoy, you can still be happy if you bring that attitude to where you are.

You have a choice in being happy and you can create happiness in your experience of life. Now, there are reasons to feel disappointed, sad or under the weather, so to speak. Through these emotions, we have opportunities to grow, we have opportunities to take those emotions and transform them into creations. For example, since I am a writer, I tend to take those “negative” types of feelings and create something with words. Those are times when powerful creations are born. Reading those creations afterwards instantly transforms my mood, because art is beautiful and is a catalyst for transformation. Though, if you are not a creative artist in that sense, there are other ways you can utilize what you feel and change it around: by exercising, participating in sports, relaxing, etc.

That “negative energy” then becomes something beautiful and an inspiration for many other areas of your life. So, if you are feeling down recently, why not choose to change it around now? Go and create something beautiful…
